The third task of our individual design practice brief was expanding the visual language further on merchandise specifically a tote bag which would be sold at our exhibitions we are creating.

This had to flow with my poster and leaflet design but still bring something new to the branding. My theme of using confectionary such as sweet and gingerbread needed to be continued here to link all my design elements together.

As we are designing this tote bag with the customer in mind it needs to appeal to them in some way in order to get them to buy it. I decided I could make my design seem desirable by using a gingerbread men as they are seen as being cute. By using a character on the bag it gives it a personality with feelings and emotions which the viewer might be drawn to. They might feel sorry for the gingerbread men as he is being bit into so therefore might persuade them to purchase.

Again I used photography to make this. Firstly making the gingerbread man then editing it on photoshop.

I got inspired by the film shrek in the designing of this as I remembered the gingerbread character which gets broken apart in the film. This could create nostalgia for the customer and remind them of the film when they see my design which may be a reason for them to purchase.
