Since her lecture at the university earlier this semester, Tina Touli and her method of working has interested me. So, when she took part in Adobes livestream yesterday, I was particularly interested to hear what she had to say.

During the live she discussed how she is using her creativity during isolation to produce a series of gif stickers for Instagram, which help to illustrate how we are all feeling during this weird situation. She wanted to produce a design which would have a positive fun energy as we’re constantly seeing bad news over social media right now.

‘Stay at home’- shows the concept of how we want to leave but we’re being pushed back in like a jack in the box.

She took us through her design process, from creating initial sketches in a note pad to then inputting it to illustrator and tracing over it. She showed how she used the software to add colour and details and then editing each frame which brought the image to life.

Here are more of her designs for this series ‘Our New World’

I really like her designs and the way she’s using design to aid our worries and make light of the situation at hand. It shows the power of design.
